Neptune is currently 3.04 billion miles from the Sun in its 165 year orbit. It will mark its first full orbit around the Sun on July 11, 2011 since its discovery by French mathematician Le Verrier in 1846.

10x60 seconds luminance, 7x20 seconds RGB (total exposure time of 17 minutes), 1x1 binning, combined in Maxim and processed in Photoshop, periodic Paramount mount error -3.1/+1.0.
